Choosing Between Twelve-step And Non 12 Step Rehab Programs

There are basically two types of drug and alcohol recovery and treatment programs offered by various centers across the country, one of which is the non twelve-step program where a person undergoes treatment without the assistance of spiritual counselors. These non 12 step rehab programs offer a combination of medical and holistic approaches as an alternative to the spiritual counseling and therapy offered by traditional twelve step rehabs. If you are a drug or alcohol addict you would want to seek treatment as soon as possible from qualified professionals who are especially trained to handle and assist with their patients’ recovery needs according to the severity of the addiction. It would be up to you however to choose which type of treatment method is best for you. If you believe in a supreme being and want to address your concerns by being more involved in your religion then a twelve step rehab program is your best bet.

If on the other hand you want to have something more in terms of treatment in order to help you with your addictions then you can choose to consult with staff and personnel from a non twelve-step rehab facility. Although non twelve-step rehab facilities do not offer a spiritual form of healing, you can nonetheless take advantage of excellent treatment methods that incorporate scientific, medical, and holistic approaches. long-term non 12 step rehabs are sometimes more successful than the usual twelve-step rehabs because the treatment provided to patients is not only limited to spiritual counseling. This allows the rehab staff to address the underlying reasons of the abuse or addiction of the patient.
